We are incredibly proud of our young competitors who represented 4Honor Academy Bantry at Grappling Industries Dublin (February 14–15, 2026).
Our team travelled to Dublin ready to test themselves against some of the best young Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes in Ireland, and their hard work on the mats truly paid off. With Rowan McGann Galvin, Alice Flynn, Hamish O’Mahony, Julian Koszalka, Daniel O’Mahony, Olaf Koszalka, Ibrahim Abliamitov, Umar Abliamitov, Andrii Budenko, Joshua O Connor, Shane O Brien, Rioghan McGettigan, Karol Maruszak, and Nacho Valdueza all competing, 4Honor Academy finished the event with an incredible 1135 team points overall.
Outstanding Performances in Dublin
A special mention goes to Joshua O Connor (14) and Shane O Brien (16), who delivered dominant performances across their divisions. Both secured clean sweeps, winning the majority of their matches by submission and the remainder convincingly on points.
Their performances highlight the standard of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu being developed right here in Bantry and West Cork. These young athletes are clear examples of the technical skill, discipline, and competitive mindset being built within our academy.
Growth on and off the Mats
The results achieved at Grappling Industries Dublin reflect the consistent, focused training taking place every week at 4Honor Academy. The technical, physical, and mental growth of each competitor was evident throughout the tournament.
As a team, we continue to learn, adapt, and improve with every competition. Each event is another important step in our journey to develop high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in West Cork, and we are excited to keep building on this momentum.
If you are interested in starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Bantry, whether for competition, fitness, confidence, or self-defence, we welcome beginners and experienced athletes alike.
